Custom Silkscreen Pin Designs
Another compelling application of a silkscreen is in its use on top of a cloisonné pin. Silkscreens on cloisonné pins are used for three main reasons. The first is to gain the ability to have two colors touching, without a metal stroke, in a specific part of the pin, while retaining the traditional cloisonné style in the remainder.
The second is to achieve exceedingly fine levels of detail in pin design; text can be made even smaller while remaining legible if a silkscreen is utilized.
The third and most popular use is to create years of service or employee pins that have customized years, dates, or award titles. Opting for a silkscreen-cloisonné hybrid is best when doing these types of pins, since the same mold can be used to create the base pin. After the cloisonné has cured, the silkscreens can be applied to achieve the most budget-conscious final step in customization.
Once you approve your design, a unique die is created. This is then stamped into metal to create the raised and recessed areas of the pin.. The pin base is plated in gold, silver, or whichever pin plating you have chosen. The recessed areas are then filled with colored enamel paint (or translucent colors, which look amazing!), separated by the raised areas made by the metal outlines in the design stage.
The silk screened areas of your design are cut into a thin screen of tiny holes. We then coat the screen with thick ink using a sponge, which causes the ink to flow through the screen and onto the pin. For multi-color designs, we do this multiple times, starting from the lightest color, and moving to the darkest.

Our minimum order quantity is 100. In certain situations, we can manufacture and sell orders as small as 50 pins, but there is a below-minimum fee that often applies and the unit pricing is higher than that at quantity 100. Please contact us for additional details.
Although every pin is a little different, since everything we make is 100% custom, our orders typically deliver 7-10 business days after you pay for your order. That said, if you require a quicker turnaround, we will make every effort to accommodate it.
Even though our standard turnaround times are some of the fastest in the industry, we understand that sometimes you need your pins even quicker than usual. As such, we work with all customers to understand their deadlines at the beginning of the quoting process. We can either work with our production team to shave a few days off the delivery date or we can guide you into an alternate product type that can more easily facilitate rush production.
