Soft Enamel Pins
SOFT ENAMEL; THE GO-TO CHOICE FOR CUSTOM PINS
Soft Enamel Lapel Pins start out as die struck pins. A custom die, based on your approved design, is struck out in a milling machine. That die is then used to stamp your design onto a sheet of iron or copper. Immediately afterwards, these stampings are cut out to the precise outline of your pin design’s unique shape. The metal plating is the next step in the process. For soft enamel pins, the most common plating types are gold, nickel (silver), copper, and black nickel (dark silver/black chrome). The raised metal surfaces are polished to a mirror finish, and the recessed metal areas that were stamped are filled with an enamel paint.
Our Soft Enamel pins are made to order, which gives us the ability to match Pantone colors to your brand standards exactly. The color filled areas in the metal recesses contrast beautifully with the polished raised metal.

Cloisonné Pins
CLOISONNÉ LAPEL PINS - ALSO KNOWN AS HARD ENAMEL PINS
Cloisonné pins, also known as hard enamel, are typically struck out from sheets of brass, creating deep impressions of your design details, while leaving raised metal outlines. These outlines hold each enamel color fill in place. The recessed areas are filled using a colored hard enamel powder, which completely covers the raised metal outlines. The pins are then fired at high temperature in a kiln, in order to melt the hard enamel powder. From there, the pins are buffed and polished so that the enamel is level with the raised metal. This ensures that the raised metals are mirror finished, and that the surface of the pin is smooth to the touch.

Die Struck Pins
Tell The Reader More
The process to create Die Struck Lapel Pins begins with the creation of a custom die of your lapel pin design. Then a sheet of copper, brass, or iron is stamped using the die, which creates a deep impression of your design in the metal. Cut-to-shape molds are made separately and used to stamp out the pin design impressions in the outline of the finished design. Plating the pins comes next. For this type of pin, the most common platings are high polished gold, nickel (silver), black nickel, and copper.
Because of the nature of the cloisonné process, your pin will boast deep, rich colors, along with an unmistakable gloss. Cloisonné lapel pins are known for high-end quality, and are the perfect choice for when you want to make a bold statement. Whether you are selling them as a product, using them in a marketing campaign, or wearing them at a tradeshow, Cloisonné lapel pins are the best choice for a polished and professional look.

Offset Printed Pins
PERFECT FOR DETAILED IMAGES
Offset Printed Lapel Pins are unlike all other styles of lapel pins. That said, custom shapes are still at your full disposal with this pin style. The offset printed style of pin is used in instances where a the production of color gradients is necessary. Using the offset printed process, we are able to print pictures, images, and camera-ready artwork using a 4-color process. The process begins with your design being transferred from a photographic negative onto the surface of the metal lapel pin.
Your image is offset printed onto the pin blanks, which come in your choice of gold or nickel (silver). Then, a clear epoxy dome is applied over the imprint to protect the image’s surface from scratching. The epoxy dome has the added benefit of giving your image a glossy finish, as well as a protective coat. We recommend providing 300dpi camera-ready artwork for this process to ensure that your pins are printed with sharp imagery. The better the source image, the better the final product.

Silk Screen Pins
GAIN THE ABILITY TO HAVE TWO COLORS TOUCH, WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A METAL STROKE
Silk Screen Lapel Pins are a great choice for companies who must strictly maintain their branding standards and achieve perfect reproduction of their logo colors, without using metal outlines to hold in filled enamel or cloisonné colors. This pin style uses a 0.8mm pin blank and screens your design onto the pin one color at a time. All solid colors are producible, but an offset printed pin will be most suitable, if gradients are needed. A silk screen pin is a great choice when corporate branding guidelines do not allow for metal borders found in the soft enamel or cloisonné lapel pins.
There is a $19.00 silk screen setup charge for this style of pin, which is definitely something to keep in mind if your quantity is low, and you are looking for the best value. An optional epoxy protective coating (dome) can then be applied to protect the silk screened colors from fading, chipping, or cracking over time.
